Learning outcomes
LO06. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the Earth as a planetary system and its geospheres, including the pedosphere LO10. To analyze the composition and structure of the pedosphere on different spatial and temporal scales. LO11. Organize and summarize the materials of field and laboratory research. LO13. Be able to communicate the results of activities to a professional audience and the general public, make presentations and messages.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Know the theoretical foundations of the disciplines: "Fundamentals of general and historical geology", "Geomorphology", "Hydrology", "Introduction to soil science", "Climatology with the basics of meteorology", "Cartography", "Ecology", "Physical geography of continents and oceans ", "Fundamentals of landscape ecology", "Fundamentals of social geography", "Ukrainian and foreign culture", "Social and political foundations of land relations". 2) Be able to observe, compare and analyze information on different information slices, generalize and systematize the acquired knowledge. 3) To have the skills of analysis of cartographic materials, materials of remote sensing of the Earth and construction of thematic maps.
Course content
The content of the discipline reveals the history of territory development and the global practice of land use. The structure of the discipline involves the study of separate historical and geographical systems of land use and their influence on the development of civilizations and individual states.

Assessment methods and criteria
Surveys in test, oral and written form, practical works. The maximum number of points on the test is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24 points. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to take the exam. The recommended minimum for admission is 36 points.
