2) to be able to establish relationships between soils and natural conditions of a certain territory as factors of soil formation, types of soil use and their current state, theory and practice of soil science;
3) to master the methods of soil science research, general scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization, historical method, systematic analysis.
Course content
The content of the educational discipline reveals the issues of theory, methodology and the main theoretical problems of modern soil science. The educational discipline consists of two content modules. In the first content module, the theoretical and methodological foundations and modern ideas about soil science as a fundamental natural science are considered, the basic concepts and terms of soil science are analyzed, the need for their correction in accordance with the achievements of science, the place and role of soil science in the system of natural sciences, problems of soil classification.
The second content module is devoted to consideration and analysis of current problems of theoretical soil science, in particular genetic, geographic, historical, ecological problems of soil science are considered. A special emphasis is placed on the consideration of the basic laws of soil formation, the need for their hierarchy and orderliness is substantiated, primarily for the theory of soil science. Applied aspects of applying theoretical knowledge of soil science in practical fields of both soil science and other natural sciences are also considered.
