Prerequisites and co-requisites
A) Before starting this course, students should have knowledge of the foundations of the state and law, which would give an idea of the formation and development of society and its institutions. B) To be able to collect and interpret information about social and political processes, to apply basic concepts in a critical understanding of events taking place in the modern world political process. C) To have elementary skills of scientific research regarding search, critical selection and systematization of information of both applied and theoretical nature.
Course content
The course "Social and Political Studies" is aimed at highlighting and explaining the main provisions, the content of which reflects the modern achievements of world and domestic humanitarian knowledge in all the variety of scientific directions. "Studies" reveal the principles and regularities of the functioning and development of the sociopolitical system as a whole, and its individual institutions, in particular: the state as a fundamental institution of the political system, public organizations and political parties (with an explanation of their ideological foundations). The essence of the phenomenon of power and the methods and limits of its implementation are explained in detail. The historical and current modern features of the transformation of political regimes are revealed and a comparative analysis of the characteristics of democratic and non-democratic regimes is carried out. The phenomenon of social and political conflicts and their specific forms and manifestations are revealed. The essence of the institution of elections and the stages and specifics of the course of election campaigns are determined, the mechanisms of electoral engineering, candidate image formation technologies and the peculiarities of the functioning of the political market are revealed. The main trends in the development of modern world politics and the peculiarities of the domestic political process are revealed.

The final number of points in the discipline (maximum 100 points), which is defined as the sum (simple or weighted) of points for systematic work during the semester. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester. Thus, the final grade consists of the sum of the semester number of points and the final test
