            1. Know the key provisions of the "Basics of GIS" discipline.
2. To be able to apply mathematical methods in geography.

            Course content
        
        
            Issues of classification and
reclassification of spatial objects in GIS, operation with statistical ones
surfaces and spatial distributions of points, lines and polygons, overlapping
layers and design of analysis results in GIS. Features of modern ones are given
spatial analysis software, primarily software
GIS (GIS tools).

            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Test, performance of creative analytical works. The discipline ends with a written assessment in the form of a test. The maximum number of points for credit is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to semester credits is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for credit).
Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum are not allowed to take the test. The recommended minimum for admission to the test is 36 points.
