Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the structure, functioning of processes and relationships in the lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere of the Earth, familiarity with the geological structure and geological processes of the Earth, with the basics of mineralogy and petrography, terrestrial hydrology and meteorology and climatology. 2. Possession of methods of search, analysis, evaluation of factual material and specialized literature and other sources of information regarding natural phenomena of a geological and geomorphological nature and available geoinformation programs.
Course content
The content of the discipline consistently reveals the main features of the status of geomorphology and a methodologically sound chain of knowledge about one of the most important Earth sciences, namely: the main methodological provisions and stages of the formation of geomorphology, the general laws of the formation of the relief of the earth's surface, the characteristics of the main factors of the formation of the relief, such as endogenous ( the structure of the earth's crust, the activity of its tectonic movements, the peculiarities of the geological structure of the upper part of the lithosphere, the properties of rocks in relation to their relief-forming role, the types of relief-forming influence of magmatism), which determine the diversity of the morphostructure of the earth's surface, and exogenous (direct and indirect influence of solar heat, various types of it impact on the hydrosphere and atmosphere, reflected by the complex mechanisms of exogenous geomorphological processes and the formation of the corresponding morphosculpture). The discipline contains educational provisions regarding the methods of field and chamber geomorphological research, as well as the justification of the structure of scientific and diverse applied directions of geomorphology.
