Analyze the patterns of
occurrence and development of processes and
phenomena in the atmosphere in their interaction with
other geospheres (PLO-1).
To develop and implement
mechanisms of territorial
management, geoplanning,
to monitor
regional development, to draw up
plans and programs taking into account
meteorological and climatic
information (PRN-9).
Identify and classify
known and record new phenomena and
processes in the atmosphere, their
properties and their inherent features
(ELO 13).
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of courses in "Climatology", "General atmospheric circulation",
"General Chemistry, Environmental Climatology, General and Historical Geology.
2. Knowledge of theoretical foundations of climatology, geology, physics, chemistry, physical geography,
ability to establish cause and effect relationships between phenomena and processes that
occurring in the natural environment.
3. Possession of methods of synthesis and analysis of information.
Course content
The discipline is devoted to the study of variability and change of the climate system during
geological history of the Earth and in the modern era, the causes of these changes and their consequences. The course
consists of two content modules.
The discipline "Global Climate Dynamics" is one of the components of the comprehensive
preparation of the specialty "Earth Sciences" under the program "Meteorology"
Within the first content module the structure, parameters and
properties of the global climate system, natural and anthropogenic factors that
affecting its formation and variability, their interaction and physical mechanisms of
of climate change.
The second module considers long-term changes in global climate
during the geological history of the Earth and their features in the industrial period. Considerable
attention is paid to methods of research, monitoring and forecasting of climate change,
probable scenarios of their change in the medium and long term under the implementation of
different socio-economic, greenhouse gas emission and impact scenarios, and
measures that allow the global economy to adapt to these changes, mitigate their
negative impact and prevent further changes in the climate system.
