Learning outcomes
PR07. Be able to apply knowledge of the composition and structure of cells of different biological agents to determine the optimal conditions for cultivation and the potential of the studied cells in biotechnology. PR09. Be able to prepare the basic nutrient media for the cultivation of various biological agents. Evaluate the peculiarities of the growth of biological agents in media of different composition. PR11. Be able to perform basic genetic and cytological research to improve and enhance the biosynthetic capacity of biological agents, taking into account the principles of biosafety, biosecurity and bioethics (induced mutagenesis using physical and chemical mutagenic factors, selection and accumulation of auxotrophic mutants, etc. transfer of genetic information)

1. Successful mastering of courses "Cytology", "Bioorganic Chemistry", "Biochemistry" 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of chemistry, physics, cytology, biochemistry 3. Ability to independently apply knowledge of chemistry, physics, general biology and other disciplines, use a computer, work with scientific literature
Course content
The course is devoted to the basic mechanisms of biological processes at the molecular level. The principles of structural organization of proteins, nucleic acids and macromolecular complexes are considered; structural organization of the hereditary apparatus of the cell; molecular mechanisms of transcription, RNA processing, protein biosynthesis, replication, repair and recombination of DNA; mechanisms of regulation of biomolecular processes. Much attention is paid to the basic methods of molecular biology and their application in biotechnology.
