Learning outcomes
PR02. Understand basic environmental laws, rules and principles of environmental protection and
nature management. PR03. Understand basic concepts, theoretical and practical
problems in the field of natural sciences, which is necessary for analysis and decision-making in the field of ecology, environmental protection and optimal use of nature. PR05. Know the conceptual basis of monitoring and regulation of anthropogenic pressure on the environment. PR21. Be able to choose the best methods and tools for research, data collection and processing.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) know the basics of general ecology, geomorphology, geology, geobotany, as well
have theoretical knowledge of the physical geography of the world and Ukraine, have an idea
about geographical features and specifics of separate natural zones;
2) be able to establish relationships between components of the ecosystem, analyze them;
3) have basic skills in field research, systems analysis.
Course content
The content of the discipline covers a wide range of issues from the general laws of soil formation, their composition, structure and properties, factors of soil formation of individual natural zones and soils within them to the current state, use and protection of soils of the world and Ukraine.
The discipline consists of two content modules.

1. Modular test 1 - PH 1.1-2.4 (block of topics of Section 1) - 10/5 points.
2. Modular test work 2 - PH 1.1–2.4 (block of topics of Section 2) - 10/5 points.
3. Practical works - RN 1.1-4.1 - 40/20 points.
