Learning outcomes
Determine the qualitative and quantitative composition of substances and their mixtures. Demonstrate the use of knowledge about morphological changes of tissues and organs to diagnose pathological conditions, identify erroneous results and take measures to correct them. Understand the physical and chemical principles of staining and apply appropriate methods in laboratory research. Verify the results of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of infectious diseases (norm / pathology). Perform microbiological, virological and immunological studies to identify etiological factors of disease.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successfully master the scientific-theoretical and practical material of the complex of educational disciplines of the educational level "Bachelor". Know the theoretical foundations of microbiology, genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology and basic methods of biological research. Be able to work with information databases in particular scientific and methodological literature. Be able to use laboratory equipment in research. Possess methods of analytical evaluation of the results of biological research to solve a specific scientific and practical problem.
Course content
The discipline "Clinical Microbiology" is a component of the educational program of professional training of specialists of the educational level "bachelor". This is a basic discipline that highlights the patterns of spread of pathogens, pathogenic factors, antigenic structure, pathogenesis, the formation of immunity. It acquaints students with modern methods of identification, detection and diagnosis of pathogens and provides an opportunity to master the principles of planning and conducting research to solve certain applied problems, statistical data processing and interpretation of results.
