Learning outcomes
Carry out preparation of workplace equipment and personal training for laboratory tests, in compliance with safety and personal protection standards, provide preparation for the study of samples of different origins and their storage.
Determine the qualitative and quantitative composition of substances and their mixtures. Demonstrate the use of knowledge about morphological changes of tissues and organs to diagnose pathological conditions, identify erroneous results and take measures to correct them.
Understand the physical and chemical principles of staining and apply appropriate methods in laboratory research.
Verify the results of laboratory tests for the diagnosis of surgical diseases, infectious diseases (norm / pathology).
Perform microbiological, virological and immunological studies to identify etiological factors of disease.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successfully master the scientific-theoretical and practical material of the complex of educational disciplines of the educational level "Bachelor".
2. Know the theoretical foundations of genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology and basic methods of biological research.
3. Be able to work with information databases in particular scientific and methodological literature.
4. Be able to use laboratory equipment in research.
5. Possess methods of analytical evaluation of the results of biological research to solve a specific scientific and practical problem.
Course content
This is a basic discipline that studies the structure and properties of prokaryotic cells, methods of their cultivation, the impact on human health; patterns of spread of opportunistic pathogens and their role in the development of various pathological human conditions. Different types of relationships between pathogenic microorganisms and hosts, mechanisms and ways of spreading infections, pathogenic factors, forms of infectious diseases, the use of antimicrobials. Modern methods of pathogen identification and diagnosis of bacterial diseases.
