            Students should successful master the disciplines "Oriental language (higher level)", "Methodology of teaching an Oriental language in a general education specialized school of the III degree"; to know the theoretical foundations of the methodology of teaching Oriental languages in higher education and related pedagogical disciplines; to knowe the regularities of the educational process in foreign language classes at higher education institutions.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The goal of the discipline is to provide the basics of methodical training of students for the implementation of the functions of an oriental (Chinese) language teacher in higher education institutions.Abstract. The course "Methods of Teaching Chinese in High School” is designed to acquaint students with the main components of the theory of modern teaching of foreign (in particular, Chinese) languages and, on this basis, to teach how to use theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems, to present modern trends in teaching foreign languages in Ukraine and its boundaries; to reveal the essence of the constituent parts and means of modern methodology as a science. The course includes 2 content modules. Module 1 is devoted to the consideration of the concept of "language competence" and methods of formation of "non-language competences" in various aspects. Module 2 is focused on the teacher's professional competencies. The discipline ends with an exam.

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            The course provides for the following forms of organization of study: lectures, seminar classes and unsupervised work. The main types of work and, accordingly, the objects of semester control are: classwork, problem-solving work (group/individual project), modular control work. A student can score a maximum of 60 points and a minimum of 36 points for performing the prescribed types of work. In detail, the criteria for evaluating the types of works during the semester are presented in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            The total grade consists of points received for work during the semester (maximum – 60 points, minimum – 36 points) and points of the final assessment in the form of an exam (maximum – 40 points, minimum – 24 points). The format of the exam is oral and written: 2 theoretical questions (maximum 20 points each) relating to the methods and techniques of forming foreign language (especially Chinese) competences among students. The exam is held in Ukrainian and Chinese according to the Learning outcomes: РН1.1-1.3, 2.2, 2.4, 3.1, 4.1-4.4. The evaluation criteria are presented in detail in the work program of the discipline, published on the official website of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology.
