Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the scientific and theoretical base of academic disciplines taught to students in the eighth semester in parallel with the course "Laboratory Workshop on Genetics". Knowledge of theoretical foundations of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, cytology and histology, zoology, biophysics, etc. Possession of basic methods of statistical processing of results. Knowledge of basic principles of basic biological methods.
Course content
Course "Laboratory Workshop on Genetics. Part 2 ", which is part of the educational-professional program "Biology" at the educational level "Bachelor ", aims to enable students on the basis of acquired theoretical knowledge to master the basic methods of genetic research for course and final qualifying works, analyze and interpret experimental data , to carry out statistical processing of the received results, to work with scientific literature and electronic databases. During the laboratory workshop students acquire basic skills of laboratory experiments, get acquainted with modern methods of studying Drosophila chromosomes, genotoxicological methods and methods of monitoring the gene pool of populations, modern approaches to working with data sets.
