Course content
The course "Molecular Biology of Viruses" covers the molecular aspects of replication strategies of viruses, including strategies for virus penetration into the cell, genome expression, assembly, release of DNA and RNA-containing viruses. Much attention is paid to key aspects of the interaction of viral and cellular components and their interaction on the end result of viral infections, unique mechanisms of antiviral cellular protection and viral response systems. Modern experimental approaches to the study of molecular mechanisms of virus reproduction and host-virus interactions are studied. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of virus-host interaction opens wide opportunities in the development of tools for the prevention and treatment of viral infections.
