PR03. Use theories and laws of mathematics, physics, chemistry and other sciences to solve problems of modern biology. PR04. Understand the basic terms, concepts, principles, theories and laws in the field of biological sciences and on the boundaries of subject areas. PR08. Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental biological processes, structure and functions of living organisms. PR15. Apply in professional activities methods for determining the structural and functional characteristics of biological systems at different levels of the organization. PR17. Through self-study to master new knowledge and modern methods of experimental research to solve problems of biology. PR21.6. Calculate, analyze and interpret physiological indicators that reflect the reactive and adaptive changes of the human body to various influences and workloads.

External form

1. Successful mastering of the courses "General Cytology", "Histology", "Zoology", "Physiology and Anatomy of Man and Animals". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of cytology, zoology, physiology and anatomy, etc. disciplines, work with scientific and methodological literature.

The discipline studies the laws of evolution, structural organization and functioning of neurons, nerve and muscle fibers, mechanisms of synaptic transmission of excitation between them. The course examines the structural and functional organization of neurons and muscle cells, the general mechanisms of excitation and its intercellular transmission, the organization and functioning of the contractile apparatus of muscle cells, pathological processes that occur in nervous and muscular systems. This discipline is taught in the amount of 90 hours. The course includes 2 content modules and 2 module tests. The discipline ends with an exam. Knowledge gained from the discipline "Physiology of nerves and muscles" can be used in research of physiological sciences (physiology of sensory systems, physiology of blood circulation, physiology of digestion, physiology of work and sports, etc.) and in other sciences (pharmacology; physiology, psychology, zoopsychology, etc.).
