Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of courses "Virology", "General Genetics". 2. Be able to independently apply knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc. disciplines, work with scientific and methodological literature. 3. Possess basic skills of targeted use of laboratory equipment and / or reagents.
Course content
The course covers issues of practical skills in working with viruses of microorganisms, in particular the study of their biological properties and methods of studying the antiviral properties of substances. The discipline develops the basic skills of working with proteins and nucleic acids of viruses, is designed to master the methods of isolation and purification of viruses for molecular research and molecular methods of detection of plant viruses. The course summarizes the student's understanding of the basic methods of working with viruses, and provides students with the ability to plan and conduct experimental work using various methods and techniques to solve specific scientific and practical problems, statistical processing of data and interpretation of experimental results.
