Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know:the interdependence of natural factors and processes in catchments; regular and random in hydrological processes theoretical provisions of mathematical statistics and probability theory arrangement of information; - statistical parameters of series of hydrological values statistical criteria for checking the homogeneity of series empirical and analytical distribution curves of hydrological series and methods of their calculation statistical analysis of relationships between variables, pairwiseBe able: - organize a random sample according to its properties and set tasks;calculate statistical numerical parameters, evaluate their accuracy to determine sample and analytical statistics of criteria of homogeneity of series calculate analytical curves by various methods to conduct a statistical analysis of the relationships between variables, evaluate their closeness, regression equations apply knowledge of statistics and probability theory to solve problems of engineering hydrology.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to consolidate the basics of statistical processing of hydrological information, to provide and learn the theoretical provisions and practical knowledge of mathematical statistics and the theory of probabilities, to apply them in practice in the field of hydrological and hydroecological calculations and forecasts, when performing research works on the hydroecological justification of various water management hydrotechnical projects

Assessment methods and criteria
Conditions for admission to the exam: the recommended minimum for admission is 36 points. For students who scored a total of less than 36 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. Final assessment in the form of an exam is conducted in written format. The maximum number of points during the exam is 40, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 24 (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam). The final grade in the discipline consists of the points scored by the student based on the results of the semester control of the first and second parts and the points of the final test.
