Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: - land water bodies, factors and reasons for their formation, the role of exogenous and endogenous processes in the formation of water bodies; - the hydrographic network as a product of self-organization, its water balance role, types of movement of natural waters; - erosion, abrasion, exaration, corrosion; - the main components of the river hydrographic network and its hydrographic characteristics; - water bodies of Ukraine, the structure of the hydrographic network in different physiographic zones and orographic conditions of Ukraine; - the influence of climate changes and anthropogenic factors on the transformation of water bodies of Ukraine and their hydrography. To be able to: - analyze the natural physical and geographical conditions of the formation and evolution of water bodies and their hydrography; - highlight the components of the river hydrographic network using the example of the river system of Ukraine;
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide and acquire theoretical and practical knowledge by students about the hydrography of water bodies, the main factors of the formation of water bodies on land, about river, lake, swamp, glacier systems and the regularities of the structure of their hydrographic network, methods of description and quantitative assessment of the main characteristics hydrography of water bodies, as well as a detailed examination and study of the physical and geographical conditions and territorial features of the hydrography of water bodies of Ukraine, the formation and structure of the river hydrographic network, the largest river systems of Ukraine, acquiring practical skills for calculating the hydrographic characteristics of natural and transformed water bodies objects and environmental assessment of the hydrographic network of Ukraine.
