Learning outcomes
K01. The ability to realize one's rights and responsibilities as a member of society, to realize the values of a civil (free democratic) society and the need for its sustainable development, the rule of law, the rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen in Ukraine. K02. The ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements of society based on understanding the history and patterns of development of the subject area, its place in the general system of knowledge about nature and society and in the development of society, technology and technologies, to use various types and forms of motor activity for active recreation and leading a healthy lifestyle. K05. Ability to communicate in the national language both orally and in writing.

1. Know the main characteristics of the formation and development of society. 2. To be able to receive and interpret information about social processes, to understand political events taking place in modern society. 3. Possess the skills of searching, critical selection and systematization of information of both applied and theoretical nature.
Course content
the discipline is aimed at highlighting the main achievements of world and domestic socio-behavioral and humanitarian knowledge. The principles and tendencies of the functioning of social and political systems as a whole, the state as a fundamental social and political institution, public organizations and political parties and their ideological foundations are revealed. The social and political essence of power, the methods and limits of its implementation, the actual historical and modern features of the transformation of social structures and political regimes, the essence of social and political relations in Ukraine are explained. Characteristics of traditional and (post)modern, democratic and non-democratic realities are compared.

Final assessment in the form of a final test: The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for independent work during the semester, taking into account the final test. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures.
