Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know:he conditions for the formation of the water flow of the Carpathian mountain rivers, the types of nutrition, the phases of the water regime;the influence of altitudinal zoning on the spatio-temporal variability of water balance components; - the main characteristics of the snow cover and methods of their measurement and calculation;classification of snow according to its water content, physical characteristics of snow types;methods of conducting stationary and route observations, safety rules for organization and conducted field research and work. Be able to: apply methods of stationary and route spatial and temporal differences in its accumulation describe the evolution of the snow cover under the influence of local conditions, wind, vegetation, and temperature explain the process of snow metamorphism, the snow-water ratio and the water equivalent of snow analyze the water and ice regime of the river, the accumulation or melting of snow in a certain area in real time.
Course content
The purpose of educational mountain hydrometeorological practice is to consolidate and deepen students’ basic knowledge about the formation and study of land waters in mountainous areas, obtained during the study of a number of educational disciplines, to master the methods of conducting hydrometeorological observations, practical skills and methods of field expedition research, their independent organization, processing of results stationary observations and route surveys, their summarization, preparation of a report on the conducted research.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, field work, stationary and route observations, camera work, defense of the final report, survey, differential assessment.
Assessment methods and criteria
Conditions for admission to credit: the recommended minimum for admission is 33 points, the maximum is 60 points. The current evaluation consists of the points scored by the student during the internship period, which is the sum of the points obtained during the evaluation of: oral answers and performance of practical tasks and field work during the routes; keeping a field diary; participation in the preparation and design of the report. For students who scored a current grade of less than 33 points, obtaining and completing an additional practical task is a mandatory condition for admission to the credit. The maximum number of points during the assessment is 40, the minimum is 27 points. The final evaluation in the form of credit is conducted in an oral format.
