Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to better master the educational material of the discipline, students must master the basic knowledge of topography and geoinformatics before it begins.
Course content
The discipline "Digital Cartography" allows you to gain knowledge of the theoretical foundations, methods, methodologies and algorithms for creating, effective use of digital and electronic maps in various fields of human activity. Develops students' practical skills in linking, scaling and digitizing raster images of maps for various purposes: geomorphological, geological, hydrogeological, hydrochemical, geochemical, soil, climatic, landscape, vegetation and others. As a result of studying this discipline the applicant gets acquainted with modern hardware and software automation tools in cartography, masters the basic methods of digitization in modern software, studies the issues of registration, maintenance, systematization and storage of data.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and involves 10 laboratory works (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), conducting 2 written modular tests. The test is conducted in writing and orally.
