Know the characteristics of all existing natural geological factors affecting soils and structures, the classification of natural physical-geological and engineering-geological processes and phenomena, the means of neutralizing and counteracting dangerous physical-geological and engineering-geological processes and phenomena. Be able to determine and use normative and calculated indicators of soil properties, determine rational methods of engineering and geological surveys in accordance with current regulations, choose a set of measures aimed at ensuring counteraction to adverse engineering and geological conditions

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures, laboratory work, independent work of students

            Assessment methods and criteria

Control involves lab works and 2 written tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written and oral exam. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. A student is not allowed to take the final grade if he/she scored less than 20 points during the semester. During the semester the student can score from 36 to 60 points. During the exam the student can get from 24 to 40 points
