Learning outcomes
Know the characteristics of all existing natural geological factors affecting soils and structures, the classification of natural physical-geological and engineering-geological processes and phenomena, the means of neutralizing and counteracting dangerous physical-geological and engineering-geological processes and phenomena. Be able to determine and use normative and calculated indicators of soil properties, determine rational methods of engineering and geological surveys in accordance with current regulations, choose a set of measures aimed at ensuring counteraction to adverse engineering and geological conditions

There is an acquaintance of students with the basic ideas about the geological the environment as the basis for the placement of engineering structures; with the main factors in the formation of engineering and geological conditions of the territories.

Assessment methods and criteria
Control involves lab works and 2 written tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written and oral exam. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. A student is not allowed to take the final grade if he/she scored less than 20 points during the semester. During the semester the student can score from 36 to 60 points. During the exam the student can get from 24 to 40 points
