To possess elementary skills of using cartographic works in solving scientific and practical problems.
Course content
The course "Cartography" consists of two content modules. The first module is devoted to the structure of cartography, its relationship with other sciences, theoretical concepts in cartography, mathematical basis of cartographic works, types of cartographic products, mapping methods and techniques, inscriptions on maps and cartographic generalization. The second module covers the design, compilation and publication of maps, application of cartographic works in scientific work, connection of cartography with geoinformatics, remote sensing methods; use of maps and general requirements, analysis and evaluation of cartographic sources; modern methods of development and technology compilation of cartographic works.

Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of practical work and module tests. - current (semester) assessment (practical work (minimum grade 10, maximum 20; control works (10 - 20); independent work (5-10); - final (final) assessment in the form of a test (score for knowledge of theory (minimum 20, maximum 40 points); assessment for the practical part (40-60).
