Learning outcomes
• the ability to apply the basic methods of industrial geophysics in solving direct and inverse problems related to the selection and study of reservoir rocks saturated with oil and gas, • acquisition by students of the skills of qualitative and quantitative interpretation of geophysics data. • construction and analysis of correlational dependencies of the species, "geophysics-geophysics", "core-geophysics"; • carrying out a complex interpretation and determining the limit values of reservoir qualities and classifying rocks into reservoirs and non-reservoirs, oil and gas-saturated and water-saturated; • generalization of geological-geophysical and well data; • application of geophysics in solving oil and gas problems using modern computerized methods of processing and interpreting geological and geophysical information.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of physics, mathematics and the foundations of geophysics.
Course content
In the program of the discipline, the main attention is paid to the study of geophysical parameters studied during the search for oil and gas; petrophysical properties of rocks and methods of their determination. Physical fields and their reflection in the geological structure are considered; principles of qualitative and quantitative interpretation of field geophysical materials; methods of complex interpretation of geological and geophysical information, methods of geological section forecasting, modern geophysical data processing systems for oil and gas exploration.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
lecture classes, practical classes and independent work of students
Assessment methods and criteria
Control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: performance of 5 practical works (where students have to demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve the assigned tasks using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), performance of 5 independent works (where students have to demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve the assigned tasks without limiting the tools and problem-solving techniques), and conducting 3 written modular control papers. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written assessment.
