Have modern technologies for data collection, processing, exchange, transformation and integration in various fields of geosciences.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Have an initial level of information technology;
2. Have the skills to work with a personal computer, have a basic level of programming knowledge.
3. It is desirable to master the basic course "Geodatabase Management" or similar (optional).
Course content
There is an acquaintance with the basics of designing geodatabase structures, principles of optimization and testing. General design paradigms are studied databases, their place in modern decision support systems and data analysis. Students acquire practical skills of analysis of attributive information and creation of relational geodatabases.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Semester assessment:
1) Test work on the basics of data organization and normalization of relational databases -10 points (marginal score of 6 points)
2) Test work on the basics of structured query language and database design - 10 points (marginal score of 6 points)
3) Score for work in practical classes - 40 points (threshold score of 24 points)
2. Final assessment in the form of an exam: maximum score of 40 points, marginal score of 24 points. During the exam the student answers a theoretical question and performs a test task for comprehensive knowledge of relational database structures and SQL syntax.
The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
