Know the theoretical foundations of geology, geodesy, higher and engineering geodesy, topographic and thematic mapping, mapping and updating maps, remote sensing of the Earth and photogrammetry, land management, real estate appraisal and land cadastre. Use methods and technologies of land management design, territorial and economic land management, land use planning and protection, cadastral surveys and maintenance of state land cadastre. Have the design of thematic GIS to ensure their functioning as part of information systems for various purposes and territorial coverage.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Possess information technology, navigate cartographic materials on various topics, namely: monitoring of natural resources; agroecological condition of the soil cover; development of urban infrastructure and other facilities that operate under the influence of various natural and anthropogenic factors.
Course content
While studying the discipline, students get acquainted with the peculiarities of the management of territories of all levels, the prospects of their development in order to achieve optimal living conditions and activities of the population. Students gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the application of GIS in the context of the functioning of territories and individual objects as possible components of the environment. Thanks to the use of GIS tools and modeling capabilities, students acquire skills of scientific and technical substantiation of the use of available resources within the territory, distribution of funds, funds, avoidance of possible critical situations. GIS provides the ability to constantly update the spatial and attributive information received by the authorities or produced by them, replenish and filter it, perform spatial analysis, provides clarity and visualization of source information in the form of maps, graphs, fields.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, modular tests, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The final grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester, as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, and the number of points obtained in the exam. The control is carried out according to the modular rating system. During the semester the student must complete 14 individual practical tasks and perform 2 written modular tests.
