Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the structure, functioning of processes and interrelationships in the lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere of the Earth, familiarity with the geological structure and geological processes of the Earth, with the basics of mineralogy and petrography, terrestrial hydrology and meteorology and climatology. 2. Possession of methods of search, analysis, evaluation of factual material and professional literature and other sources of information on natural phenomena of geological and geomorphological nature and available geoinformation programs.
Course content
The content of the discipline reveals the issues of different subject areas of modern geology: general, dynamic and historical geology. The structure of the discipline includes three content modules. Module 1 reveals the importance of geophysical characteristics of the Earth in the development and functioning of the geographic shell, introduces modern models of the structure of the globe and lithosphere, their material composition. Special attention is paid to is paid to theoretical and practical issues of diagnosing minerals and rocks. Module 2 is devoted to the study of processes of external and internal geodynamics, their connection with physical and geographical conditions and structures of the Earth's crust. Module 3 is devoted to study of historical geology: scientific principles of periodization of the Earth, methods of reconstruction of history its development; the main geostructures of the Earth's crust and features of their evolution.
