PR01. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of earth sciences. PR05. Be able to conduct field and laboratory research. PR08. Justify choices and use field and laboratory methods to analyze natural and anthropogenic systems and objects. PR09. To be able to carry out studies of geospheres using quantitative methods of analysis. PR10. Analyze the composition and structure of geospheres (in accordance with specialization) on different spatiotemporal scales. PR12. Know and apply theories, paradigms, concepts and principles in Earth sciences according to specialization.

Full-time form

1. Successful completion of a school course in physics and physical geography. 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of physics, physical geography, the ability to establish causal relationships between phenomena and processes occurring in the natural environment. 3. Mastery of information synthesis and analysis methods.

The discipline is devoted to the study of the Earth's atmosphere. The course consists of two content modules. The first is dedicated to the study of the composition and structure of the atmosphere, solar, terrestrial and atmospheric radiation, the thermal regime of the atmosphere, the surface of the soil and water bodies, as well as the water regime of the atmosphere. The second module deals with the formation and distribution of atmospheric precipitation, the baric field of the atmosphere, the wind regime, air masses and atmospheric fronts, atmospheric circulation over different latitudes, climate-forming factors.

Lectures, practical, independent work

During the semester, after the completion of the relevant topics, thematic written control papers with open questions are conducted. It is mandatory for the exam to write test papers according to content modules, to complete all practical works. For students who scored a total of less than the critical calculation minimum - 36 points, writing essays on insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the exam. Final evaluation in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam). Students who, during the semester, scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to take the exam.
