Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of geological and geophysical disciplines. 2. Have the skills to work with a personal computer.
Course content
The main attention is paid to mathematical processing of seismic data, technologies of two-dimensional and three-dimensional seismic observations by the method of common midpoint, seismic data formats, mathematical model of seismic route, seismic data processing procedures, profile passport composition, analog signal sampling theory, digital spectral filter conversion deconvolution and migration transformations. Approaches to solving direct and inverse problems of seismic fields are considered. Methods of processing which are explained on real examples on the basis of the specialized modern software are studied.
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
1. Vyzhva S.A., Tyshchenko A.P. Mathematical processing of seismic data on a computer, Kyiv, KNU, 2013
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, independent work of students
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and provides: practical work (40 points), in which students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher, independent work (20 points) in which students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve the tasks without limiting the tools and techniques of problem solving) and conducting 3 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written test
