Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of geological cycle courses with basic knowledge of structural geology, stratigraphy, geophysics.
2. Have basic skills in working with spreadsheets, geographic information systems.
Course content
Introduction to the basics of modeling hydrocarbon deposits on the example of the Schlumberger Petrel interpretation system. The main sources are studied data for construction of structural-geological and material models, methods of resource calculation, data visualization. Students acquire practical skills of joint interpretation of geophysical and geological data, construction of three-dimensional models of hydrocarbon deposits.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes, independent work
Assessment methods and criteria
The control is carried out according to the modular rating system and includes: implementation of a practical semester project (where students must demonstrate the quality of acquired knowledge and solve problems using the methods and tools outlined by the teacher), implementation of 10 independent practical works (where students must demonstrate quality of acquired knowledge and solve tasks without limiting tools and techniques for solving the problem) and conducting 2 written modular tests. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a written exam. During the exam the student gives answers to 3 questions of the ticket on complex knowledge of the subject, methods and technical means of construction of three-dimensional models of mineral deposits.
