Learning outcomes
* Apply conceptual knowledge of natural and socio-economic sciences in performing tasks of geodesy and land management. * Collect, evaluate, interpret and use geospatial data, metadata on objects of natural and man-made origin, apply statistical methods of their analysis to solve specialized problems in the field of geodesy and land management. * Select and apply tools, equipment, hardware and software required for remote, ground, field and in-house surveys in geodesy and land management.

Course content
There is an acquaintance with the basics of data organization, database management systems. Students get acquainted with the stages of development of the main elements of the bases data, their presentation and evaluation. The general paradigms of database design are studied and acquaintance with modern environments of their management is carried out. Students get acquainted with the structure and basic definitions of the SQL programming language.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: 1) Test on the basics of organizing geodata, - 10 points (final mark 6 points) 2) Test work on the basics of working with geodatabases - 10 points (final mark 6 points) 3) Evaluation for work in practical classes - 60 points (score 48 points) Control is carried out according to the module-rating system and provides for: the implementation of 5 practical work (where students must demonstrate the quality of the knowledge gained and solve the tasks using the methods and tools described by the teacher), and 2 written module tests. Final assessment in the form of a test: maximum score 20 points, intermediate score 12 points. The final assessment is carried out in the form of a written test. A final assessment in the form of a test is not required. If a student refuses to participate in this form of assessment, the student does not receive the appropriate points for the final grade.
