Learning outcomes
Apply the conceptual knowledge of the natural and socio-economic sciences when performing the tasks of geodesy and land management. Select and apply tools, equipment, hardware and software required for remote, terrestrial, field and in-house surveys in geodesy and land management. Organize and carry out remote, ground, field and office work in the field of geodesy and land management after prepare results of work and relevant reports.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to learn the educational material of the discipline, students must first acquire knowledge and skills in the field of informatics and computer technology, the basics of mathematical analysis, general geology and engineering geology.
Course content
The program of the discipline reveals the main aspects of the application of geoinformation technologies in the Earth sciences and geology. The discipline "Geoinformation systems in the Earth sciences" will allow students get knowledge and skills in collecting, accumulating, processing, generalizing, analyzing, optimizing and disseminating spatial information by means of geoinformation technologies.

Assessment methods and criteria
1. Semester evaluation: - control work on the basics of geographic information systems -15 points (milestone score 9 points). - control work on the basics of spatial analysis - 15 points (milestone score 9 points). - assessment for work in laboratory classes - 30 points (a milestone score of 18 points). 2. Final grade in the form of an exam: maximum grade 40 points (terminal grade 24 points). During the exam, the student performs the implementation of the project using knowledge and skills in the basics of geoinformation systems in geosciences. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
