Learning outcomes
- inner structure of the Earth and fluid systems
- general principles of choice and substantiation of liquid filtration models in the deep layers of the Earth
- the methods of study of deep processes - the nature of the connections between the parameters of the medium (permeability, porosity, temperature, pressure)
– the mechanisms of transport of matter (solutions) and energy (heat fluxes)
– links between hydrogeological parameters and seismic activity, induced seismicity

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Basic knowledge of tectonics, the basics of geophysics, hydrogeology, geology of oil and gas
2. The level of English proficiency not lower than B1.
Course content
To familiarize students with the basic modern principles of the fundamental sciences regarding the origin, development and structure of the planet as a unique single system. Geotherm (temperature-depth curve), heat flow and factors of its "masking", mass transfer. Physical-geological preconditions of interconnections of seismic processes and hydrogeological conditions of environment. Induced seismicity. Use the data of geothermal research in the study of the deep hydrosphere, the formation of deposits of thermal waters and hydrocarbons

Assessment methods and criteria
Form of student evaluation includes semester grading (Control tests, Works paper and oral reports) and Final evaluation. Final evaluation is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester. For admission to the final grading it is obligatory: 1) to pass two control tests; 2) to prepare six oral reports, which can be presented in the form of presentations and abstracts.
