Learning outcomes
Know and understand the methods and techniques of cryptographic protection of information, basic cryptographic algorithms and standards of symmetric encryption. Be able to perform cryptanalysis and assess the stability of symmetric systems of cryptographic information protection. Demonstrate the ability to self-study and continue professional development. Be able to organize their own activities and get results within a limited time. Demonstrate skills of interaction with other people, ability to work in teams.

know: basic concepts of mathematical analysis, discrete mathematics, linear and general algebra, number theory, probability theory, mathematical information theory, algorithm theory, the theory of computational complexity. be able to: program in a high-level language, be able to develop mathematical models of information processes and algorithms. have basic skills: solving problems of discrete mathematics, mathematical analysis, probability theory and mathematical statistics, linear algebra, information and coding theory, number theory, finite field theory.
Course content
Discipline "Symmetric cryptography" is part of the cycle of professional training for the first (bachelor's) educational and qualification level of knowledge 12 Information technology in specialty 124 "System Analysis" educational and professional program "System Analysis"; it includes the study of basic concepts of cryptology, principles of cryptographic systems, mathematical models of information sources, the concepts of stability, theoretical and practical secrecy, includes the study of classical ciphers and modern symmetric systems of block and streaming encryption. Taught in the 7th semester, 28 hours. (2.5 ECTS credits), of which lectures - 28 hours, independent work - 47 hours. There are 2 meaningful parts and a test.
