Learning outcomes
Know the concepts of scientific method and methodology, basic methods of scientific research: empirical, theoretical, general scientific; general scientific methodological principles.
Know the characteristics of known methodological systems: determinism, stochastics, incompleteness, uncertainty.
To be able to distinguish science as a system of knowledge, social institute and research activities, to understand the historical change of the system of principles of science as a change of types of scientific rationality in the process of global scientific revolutions.
Be able to distinguish between method, methodology, technique, technique; to realize the multilevel methodology of science, the diversity of specific scientific methodologies, to understand the norms of scientific research as methodological principles; use the requirements for scientific theory as general scientific methodological principles.

Course content
The discipline "Scientific image of the world" is a mandatory discipline that provides obtaining general competencies by graduates of the first educational program (bachelor's) level of the Higher Council "Systems Analysis" of the Faculty of Computer Science and of Cybernetics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In this the discipline reveals the meaning of the concepts methodology, experiment, determinism, statistics, relative.
