Know the main trends in the development of university education in Ukraine and the world. Know the features of the education system in Ukraine and its adaptation to the principles of the Bologna Process. Know the history of Kyiv University. Know the history of education. Be able to analyze the modern education system in Ukraine, in particular, the organization of pedagogical education. Be able to determine the impact of university studies on the educational process.

Acquaintance with the historiography of the course, traditions of university education in Ukraine and the world. Disclosure of the circumstances of the founding of St. Vladimir's University in Kyiv. Consideration of the educational process, reorganizations, legal status, financial situation and life of teaching and student corporations. Coverage of the development of scientific schools at the University of Kiev, training of scientific personnel, international cooperation, including in the current conditions of Ukraine's entry into the European educational space. Elucidation of the peculiarities of Western European university education at different stages of historical development from antiquity to the present. Characteristics of the evolution of domestic higher education, the formation and progress of universities in the Ukrainian lands and in the Ukrainian diaspora.
