Learning outcomes
Student should obtain the basic knowledge for determination of computer system parameters for different medical instrumentation design tasks, simulation of medical equipment, medical data formats (e.g. 2D and 3D graphics, multimedia, text), medical databases design, and user interfaces development.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The first (bachelor) education level in the field of natural sciences. Basic knowledge in С/С++ programming, computer systems design, parallel and distributed computing, physical and mathematical disciplines of the first year of master program.
Course content
Basic knowledge in determination of computer system parameters for different medical instrumentation design tasks, simulation of medical equipment, medical data formats (e.g. 2D and 3D graphics, multimedia, text), medical databases design, and user interfaces development.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures 20 hours, seminars 20 hours
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester score: two modules with individual tasks and written test at the end, each module up to 30 points. Final score: written test with practical tasks up to 40 points. If all 5 individual tasks are fulfilled with 10 or more points additional 40 points are added without written test passing.
