Learning outcomes
The student must understand the essence of such phenomena, technologies and problems: energy characteristics of biochemical processes. Regulation of enzymatic processes. Medicines as enzyme inhibitors. Energy conversion in living cells. Biological oxidation and energy conjugation processes. Aerobic and anaerobic ways of glucose oxidation. The role of ATP in the processes of energy accumulation and transfer.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
General physical and biophysical regularities that underlie human life, the main substances that make up living organisms, the main ideas, concepts and laws of molecular physics, their application, the foundations of the molecular-kinetic theory of substances, the basic principles of statistical physics, transfer processes, fundamentals of physics of surface phenomena, phase transformations, fundamentals of physico-chemistry of solutions, structure and physico-chemical properties of proteins at the level of a bachelor's degree graduate of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
Course content
The Bioelectronics discipline consists of two meaningful modules No. 1 "Energy characteristics of biochemical processes" and No. 2 "Energy conversion in living cells". In the first of them, the basic thermodynamic laws underlying the vital activity of living organisms are studied, in the second - the mechanisms of the processes of energy accumulation and transfer in cells.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: The academic discipline has two substantive modules, each of which is assessed for 30 points. Final evaluation (in the form of an exam): the form of the exam is written and oral. The examination ticket consists of 2 questions (15 points each) and a problem, which is evaluated up to 10 points. In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the exam. A condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is obtaining at least 60 points, the grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points.
