Learning outcomes
The student must know the current state of the relevant section in branch of applied physics corresponding to the subject of the bachelor's work; theoretical and applied knowledge, as well as practical information according to the direction of work of the practice base; research methods and experimental methods of applied physics used in the work. The student must be able to make an analytical review of scientific and technical literature, including periodical specialist publications in English on a given topic in the field of applied physics; perform applied research and related professional engineering work; formulate conclusions based on the results applied research work.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The thesis is completed at the final stage of study after studying the mandatory and optional components of the educational program and is based on the results of their study. Special attention is paid to educational components related to the development of practical skills - course work and scientific and industrial practice. The individual educational trajectory of the student is implemented by choosing a thesis topic that is related to the selective components of the educational program chosen by the student
Course content
A bachelor's thesis is a type of independent creative work of the applicant at the final stage of education. The topic of the work should correspond to the actual problems of the specialty "Applied physics and nanomaterials", to focus on the training of a highly qualified specialist to perform tasks in the field of applied physics, namely scientific and applied and scientific-practical research that ensures the development of the field of real production of high-tech elements, devices and systems, as well as the process of their development, and analytically -diagnostic support of their serial production processes.
Recommended or required reading and other learning resources/tools
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The topic of the thesis for each student of higher education is determined and approved by the department before the start of its implementation, it must correspond to the general direction of the educational program in the field of applied physics. The scientific supervision of the bachelor’s work is personalized, that is, a specific supervisor is appointed for each of the applicants for its implementation. The completion of the diploma thesis is the independent work of the applicant, but he has the right to be consulted by the supervisor and (if necessary) other scientific and pedagogical staff. Fully formalized thesis is submitted by the candidate to the department on time, no later than two weeks before the day of defense in the Examination Committee. departments.
Assessment methods and criteria
The bachelor's thesis report should cover the issues that have been studied during the period of implementation, including a review of the literature on the subject of the thesis, the results obtained and their analysis. The first stage of defense of a bachelor's thesis is a preliminary defense at a meeting of the department. The second stage is a public defense at a meeting of the Examination Commission). Both stages of defense take place according to the same procedure, the basis of which is the report of the student of higher education. The department issues a preliminary assessment and allows the work to be defended. The evaluation of the department, together with the evaluations of the manager and the reviewer, can be taken into account by the Examination Commission, which issues the final evaluation. A point-rating system for evaluating students' knowledge on a 100-point national scale is used to evaluate the bachelor thesis.
