Learning outcomes
The student should know what atomic objects are scales and criteria for their formation; basic experiments atomic physics; Schrödinger's equation; typical solution methods tasks; model of the Bohr atom; There are many vector models electron atoms, thermals; Mendeleev's table; Zeeman effect, g-factor; Moseley's law; molecules, covalent
bond, hybridized orbitals; crystal lattice, dispersion equation for electron waves; Fermi energy. The student must be able to apply Heisenberg's uncertainty ratio; to be able to solve problems movements of charged particles in electric and magnetic fields; solve the stationary Schrödinger equation; calculate hydrogen-like atoms (ions) on the basis of the Bohr atom theory; Find the basic terms (states) of atoms; calculate the structure Zeeman transitions; calculate parameters X-ray lines in atoms.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The study discipline "Atomic Physics" is based on the cycle of disciplines of professional and practical training.
Course content
In the course "Atomic Physics", objects and processes of the atomic scale are studied. Electromagnetic interaction is the main type of interaction that determines the processes and structures of the atomic scale. The theory of atomic objects is based on the methods of quantum mechanics. Such objects include atoms, molecules and crystal lattices. In this sequence, they are considered in the lecture course. The main theoretical results are illustrated by the results of experimental studies. The role of the experiment in establishing the basic principles of atomic physics is emphasized.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, practical classes; independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation: control is carried out according to the following principle. The academic semester has two content modules. After the completion of the relevant topics, two written modular tests are conducted. To determine the level of achievement of the learning outcomes, the tasks for the modular control work test the ability to solve practical problems. Final evaluation - - in the form of an exam; the form of the exam is written and oral. In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the exam. A condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is to obtain at least 60 points, while the exam grade cannot be less than 24 points.
