Learning outcomes
The student must know the current state of the relevant section in branch of applied physics corresponding to the subject of the bachelor's work; theoretical and applied knowledge, as well as practical information according to the direction of work of the practice base; research methods and experimental methods of applied physics used in the work.
The student should be able to make an analytical review of the aucovo-technical literature, including periodical specialist publications in English on a given topic in the field of applied physics; perform applied research and related professional engineering work; formulate conclusions based on the results of applied research work.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The thesis is completed at the final stage of study after studying the mandatory and optional components of the educational program and is based on the results of their study. Special attention is paid to educational components related to the development of practical skills - course work on electronics and scientific and industrial practice. The student's individual educational trajectory is implemented by choosing a thesis topic that is related to the selective components of the educational program chosen by the student.
Course content
A bachelor's thesis is a type of independent creative work of the applicant at the final stage of education. The topic of the work should correspond to the current problems of the "Applied physics and nanomaterials" specialty, focus on the training of a highly qualified specialist to perform tasks in the field of applied physics, namely scientific and applied and scientific and practical research that ensures the development of information technologies in the field of optics, engineering and electronics of microwave, medical and quantum radiophysics, as well as the process of developing relevant devices and systems, including analytical and diagnostic support of their serial production processes.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The topic of the diploma thesis for each candidate for higher education is determined and approved by the department before the start of its implementation. Academic supervision of the bachelor thesis is personalized, that is, a specific supervisor is appointed for each candidate for its implementation. Completing the diploma thesis is the candidate’s independent work, but he has the right to counseling the supervisor and (if necessary) other scientific and pedagogical employees of the department. A fully completed diploma thesis is submitted by the applicant to the department no later than two weeks before the day of the defense in the Examination Committee.
Assessment methods and criteria
The thesis defense consists of two stages. The first stage is a preliminary defense at a meeting of the department. At this stage, the student of higher education submits a fully prepared work, a review of the supervisor (with an assessment), a review (with an assessment). The second stage is a public defense on
meetings of the Examination Commission, which conducts the final attestation of the applicant. Before defending the thesis, it must be checked for the presence of borrowings (plagiarism). Both stages of defense take place according to the same procedure, the basis of which is the report of the student of higher education. At its meeting, the department issues a preliminary assessment and allows the work to be defended at the Examination Committee. The evaluation of the department, together with the evaluations of the manager and the reviewer, can be taken into account by the Examination Committee, which issues the final evaluation.
