Learning outcomes
To know the basic theoretical foundations of the structure of the cell, the physiological and biochemical role of individual organelles and the plasma membrane, the formation, regulation and role of individual types of cellular signals at the molecular, cellular and cellular levels. To be able to use information databases for the study of cellular communications, to analyze the connections of individual biochemical processes in the cell. To be able to work independently with scientific and educational and methodological literature, search and generalize scientific and technical information.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basic theoretical foundations of biology. To be able to analyze causal relationships in living systems. Have skills in working with electronic databases, as well as with scientific and methodological literature.
Course content
The educational discipline is represented by: the main structural and functional characteristics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells; structural and functional specialization of the plasma membrane and individual organelles of eukaryotic cells; structural organization of nucleic acids and interactions that stabilize it; the structure of the genetic apparatus of eukaryotic cells; characteristics of classes of ribonucleic acids; analysis of replication, transcription and translation processes; biochemical properties of lipids, carbohydrates and proteins; membrane transport; analysis of electrical phenomena on the plasma membrane of excitable cells and their study; systems of passive, primary and secondary active ion transport; analysis of intercellular communications through GPCR receptors, ionotropic, coupled with enzymatic activity, nuclear; the consideration of signaling indirectly gas transmitters; the role of Ca2+ ions as a messenger; analysis of biochemical reactions of glycolysis, Krebs cycle; analysis of the structure and functioning of the respiratory chain of mitochondria.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: The academic discipline has two substantive modules, each of which is assessed for 30 points. Final evaluation (in the form of an exam): the form of the exam is written. The exam ticket consists of 2 questions (20 points each). In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the exam. A condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is obtaining at least 60 points, the grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points.
