Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the programs "Introduction to Linguistics" and "Introduction to Slavic Philology". A necessary condition for access to the discipline "Old Slavonic language" are the following competencies of the student: Know: basic information about the Slavic language industry; the general structure of the modern Ukrainian language and other Slavic languages; units of phonetic, lexical, morphological, syntactic levels of Ukrainian and other Slavic languages; functions of units of structural levels of Ukrainian and other Slavic languages. Be able to: express their own opinions and judgments based on knowledge from the courses "Introduction to Linguistics" and "Introduction to Slavic Philology".
Course content
acquaintance of students with the origin of the Old Slavic language, its phonetic-phonological, lexical, morphological, word-forming and syntactic systems in the comparative-historical aspect against the background of linguistic phenomena and processes of Indo-European and Proto-Slavic periods with projection on corresponding linguistic facts of modern Slavic languages , primarily Ukrainian and Russian, the development of skills and abilities to apply the acquired knowledge in the process of reading, commenting, translation and comprehensive linguistic analysis of Old Slavonic texts. The discipline "Old Slavonic language" belongs to the compulsory disciplines and is taught in the 2nd semester in the 1st year. It is Part 2 of the complex discipline "Prophetic Languages". In turn, the discipline "Old Slavonic language" consists of two parts.
