Learning outcomes
The main goals of studying the discipline are to study both the theoretical foundations of informatics and the acquisition of practical skills and skills in the use of modern software products during research and solving tasks of a specialized field. As a result of studying the discipline, students should know the structure and main components of a modern PC; principles of PC structure and operation, fields of their use; principles of information storage and processing; principles of building software and information support of a PC; basic principles of using the software; basics of computer security and information protection; classification and organization of computer networks; principles of functioning of well-known software tools and application program packages. Students should be able to set and solve the problems of choosing ready-made software for processing information; use software tools of leading domestic and foreign manufacturers

Secondary education. Basic knowledge in Informatics of secondary school.
Course content
The discipline should form a certain worldview in the information sphere, as well as the development of information culture, that is, the ability to purposefully work with information, professionally use computer information technologies, appropriate technical and software tools. The future specialist must possess not only professional knowledge, but also modern information technologies for processing ever-increasing flows of information, so the student must acquire practical skills in working on a personal computer in the most common software environments, which include modern operating systems, shells, service and applied software tools.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures in the amount of 16 hours and lab works in the amount of 44 hours.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester score: The discipline has six lab works, each of which is estimating at 10 points . Final score (exam): the form of the exam is written-oral. The test paper consists of 2 questions (20 points each). In total, you can get from 0 to 40 points for the exam. The condition for achieving a positive grade for the discipline is to obtain at least 60 points, the exam score can not be less than 24 points.
