Learning outcomes
- Know and understand modern methods of research, organization and planning of experiments, computerized methods of research and processing of measurement results - Analyze and evaluate the impact of information and measurement techniques and metrological activities on the environment and human safety - Be able to plan and conduct experimental research structural, optical and electrophysical properties of organic (including biological and nanoobjects) and inorganic environments.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basics of thermodynamics, electrodynamics, quantum physics, optical spectroscopy, basic principles of mathematical analysis, differential equations, linear algebra, methods of mathematical physics. Be able to perform direct and inverse Fourier transform, calculate the power spectrum and autocorrelation function of the signal, identify optical spectra. Have skills in practical work with computer programs for processing, analysis and graphical representation of digital data.
Course content
Discipline "Optical methods and devices in biology and medicine" - is designed to provide students with knowledge of the basics of physics of living systems, modern problems of biology and medicine, optical devices and methods applied to biomedical fields.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: lectures, consultations. Assessment methods: homework, knowledge control through the current rapid survey. The final grade is set on the basis of intermediate grades (60%) and the exam (40%).
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: 1. Based on the results of tests, homework tests and express surveys; 2. According to the results of the express survey and control work. 3. Final survey. Content module 1 - from 18 to 30 points; content module 2 - from 18 to 30 points; Exam - from 24 to 40 points.
