Learning outcomes
- To be able to find reasonable decisions at drawing up of structural, functional and basic schemes of means of information-measuring equipment - To be able to organize and carry out measurements, technical control and tests - To be able to organize procedure of measurement, calibration, tests at work in group or separately. and / or experimental research in the field of optics, laser physics and optoelectronics, performed individually (autonomously) and / or as part of a research group - Understand the relationship of optics, laser physics and metrology with other natural and engineering sciences, be familiar with individual basic concepts of applied physics, materials science, engineering, as well as individual objects (technological processes) and natural phenomena that are the subject of research in other sciences.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the basics of geometric and wave optics, radio electronics, atomic physics. Be able to build the course of rays in simple optical systems, perform basic calculations of the parameters of optical systems. Have basic skills of practical work with optical and optoelectronic devices, in particular, be able to prepare devices for measurements, adjust, calibrate, evaluate accuracy; be able to process experimental data, have skills in working with specialized computer programs.
Course content
Discipline "Methods and techniques of spectral measurements" - one of the fundamental disciplines underlying scientific education, which aims to provide students with knowledge and skills of experimental spectroscopy, understanding the structure and principles of spectral instruments, as well as methods and techniques of spectral research. The course material is divided into three parts. The first part deals with sources of optical radiation, light filters and modulators of optical fluxes. The second part - spectral devices - is designed to provide students with knowledge of the basic principles of construction of spectral devices, features of their design, operating parameters and performance characteristics. The third part - methods of spectral research - studies the basic methods of experimental spectroscopy: emission, absorption, luminescent spectroscopy, and scattering spectroscopy.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: lectures, consultations, laboratory work. Assessment methods: homework, colloquium, knowledge control through the current rapid survey, assessment for laboratory work. The final grade is set on the basis of intermediate grades (60%) and the exam (40%).
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: 1. According to the results of the express survey and colloquium (30). 2. According to the results of rapid surveys and defense of laboratory work (30). Final assessment: test (40).
