1. To understand the subject area, ethical and legal principles of professional activity. 8. To be able to use the basic categorical-conceptual and analytical-research apparatus of modern political science. 12. To be able to analyze the interaction of political actors and institutions, power and government, political systems and regimes, political behavior in different contexts of their functioning.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic provisions of: philosophy - on the conditionality and patterns of functioning and development of socio-political systems; history - on the features, stages and specific events in the development of individual countries and Ukraine; history of political thought - on ideas and concepts that explained or predicted political phenomena and processes; logic - on the laws of operation of scientific concepts and categories. 2. To be able to navigate in the political life of society, including in Ukraine, to understand its main parameters on the basis of knowledge about socio-political development. 3. Have basic skills in research, search and processing of necessary information, a critical attitude to existing views on policy.
Course content
The discipline acquaints students with the laws of functioning and development of politics in its various manifestations: as a holistic political system, and as separate political institutions and phenomena, and as the embodiment of specific forms of human behavior and activity. The main categories and concepts, paradigms and concepts that form the theoretical foundation of modern political science are identified and analyzed.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral report, discussion, abstract (essay) Criteria. The following are subject to assessment in seminars: the level of knowledge and completeness of disclosure of the issue in oral reports; activity in discussing issues and argumentation of one's own position in discussions; use of additional sources in preparing the report; ability to critically analyze ideas and statements presented for discussion; meaningful content of the presentation material and its free and interesting presentation. Criteria for evaluating independent work (abstract / essay) are the presence of independent, scientifically sound commentary (with reference to the main and additional literature for the course), the formulation of opinions using professional terminology and compliance with deadlines for independent work
