To know the basic types of disorder. To know the parameters and physical quantities that characterize the main types of disorder. To be able to describe and determine the parameters of disorder and their impact on physical quantities. To know and understand the basic safety requirements when conducting experimental research, in particular the rules of working with sources of ionizing radiation.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the basic laws and concepts of general physics, thermodynamics and statistical physics, elements of quantum mechanics for the study and free orientation in the main problems of nanosystems physics. To be able to apply previously acquired knowledge from the courses of mathematical analysis, analytical geometry, mathematical physics, general physics, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics and statistical physics to solve practical problems in the course. To have basic skills in finding and processing specialized literature, solving algebraic and differential equations, construction and analysis of graphical dependencies.
Course content
Elective discipline is a component of the cycle of professional training of specialists of educational and qualification level "bachelor". In particular, its fundamental laws and concepts of disorder are widely used in a number of important disciplines that are part of such sections of physics as physics and solid state theory. The main task is to acquaint students with the basic provisions and approaches used to describe general patterns and ideas to describe different types of disorders in order to establish patterns of their impact on physical properties. It considers the basic modern ideas about the disordered state of matter, the manifestation of such disording on internal structure and properties, includes a number of specific terms, categories, laws and approaches to the description of disordered structures. The result of training is the acquisition of knowledge about the structure of the disorder and its impact on physical properties.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: (max / min) 1. Test 1 on topics 1-6: PH 1.1 - 8 points / 5 points 2. Test 2 on topics 7-9: PH 1.2 - 8 points / 5 points 3. Oral examination and defense of tasks for self-study - 4 points / 2 points 4. Laboratory works (6 works): RN 2.1 - 15 points / 9 points 5. Preparation of abstracts: PH 2.1 - 5 points / 3 points Final assessment in the form of a test. A student is not admitted to the test if he / she scored less than 24 points during the semester. The student is admitted to the test only if he performs all the planned laboratory work and writes the appropriate quality of essays.
