Learning outcomes
2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 4.To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 6.To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies. 16. Define, formulate and argue one's own civic and professional position on current social issues.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before studying this course, students must know the main achievements of material and spiritual culture, their essential features; stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basics of ethics, aesthetics, sociology of culture; basic culturological concepts and categories; basic culturological theories and methods of culturological research, including methods of philosophy of culture, cultural anthropology, sociology of culture.
2. Be able to collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena, cultural processes and events; explain the essence of the phenomenon of culture, its role in human life; to apply the conceptual and categorical apparatus of theoretical culturology to study the manifestations of everyday life.
3. Have basic skills in working with consolidated information, namely, obtain and analyze information from various sources and systematically develop different types of information resources.
Course content
Part 1. Qualitative change of socio-humanitarian methodology: "cultural turn" among a number of other methodological "turns". Culturology in the light of practical and cultural turns in socio-humanitarian and philosophical knowledge. The concept of "practice" in the methodological arsenal of social and humanitarian knowledge (a peculiarity of cultural sociology). Methodological ability of the concept of "practice" for cultural studies. Conceptual representations of theories of practices. P. Bourdieu's theory of practices. Part 2. University as a cultural practice. University as a cultural practice in the Middle Ages. University in Early Modern. Modern University as a cultural institution. University and literary culture.
