1. To have the skills of critical thinking, to present their own thoughts in a clear way, to make their arguments. 2. To analyze, comment and summarize scientific and analytical texts of culturological format. 3. To create logically and structurally organized texts on cultural studies, according to the specialization. 4.To know and understand theoretical approaches to definition of culture, its manifestations and forms of existence. 5To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 7. To understand the factors of cultural dynamics, the principles of periodization of cultural processes, their specific features and characteristics. 8 To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content. 14. To conduct a public discussion and maintain a dialogue on Ukrainian culture with professionals and non-specialists. 15

1. Before starting to write a coursework on theoretical cultural studies, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; main cultural theories and methods of cultural studies; basic cultural concepts and categories. 2. Be able to collect and interpret information about cultural phenomena, cultural processes and events; apply basic terms and categories in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes. 3. Have basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting regarding political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena.

The course work on theoretical cultural studies is an integral part of the educational process and is designed to integrate scientific, educational and industrial factors in the educational process. While preparing the course work on theoretical cultural studies and during its public defense, students must demonstrate the acquired knowledge, skills and practical skills, ways of thinking, professional, ideological and civic qualities. The course work on theoretical cultural studies involves solving a specialized problem or practical problems of cultural studies. In the process of course work on theoretical cultural studies, the student develops the ability to think critically, generate new knowledge, self-righteous work, organization and implementation of research activities in the field of culture. Public defense provides the experience needed for further work in professional field.
