5. To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes.
6. To identify, verify and summarize information on various contexts of cultural practice, to determine the degree of their relevance using different sources, information, communication tools and visual technologies.
8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content.
10. To recognize and classify different types of cultural products, to determine their qualitative characteristics based on comprehensive analysis.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Prior to studying this course, students should know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; basic cultural theories and methods of cultural studies.
2. Be able to collect and interpret information about cultural phenomena and phenomena, cultural processes and events; identify current trends in the development of artistic and cultural phenomena;
3. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting of cultural and artistic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional cultural informative sources.
Course content
"The History of Musical Art is one of the compulsory disciplines and is taught in the third semester. The discipline introduces students to the logic of the development of musical art and develops skills in theoretical comprehension of its phenomena. The discipline summarizes and systematizes the idea of the essence of music as an art form, its varieties, history and patterns of development of music of the Ancient World, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the musical culture of the XVII - first half of the XVIII centuries, Baroque music, musical culture of classicism (second half of the eighteenth century), peculiarities of romanticism in music, musical trends in the late XIX-XX centuries, specifics of Ukrainian music, trends in musical culture of the XX century (ethnic music, jazz, rock music, pop music, techno, hip-hop).

Evaluation of semester work:
1. Oral report, supplementary reports and participation in seminar discussions: 36 / 60 points.
2. Independent work: 12/20 points
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire course.
